We had pre booked a scooter tour in Ho Chi Minh and the whole family loved the scooter experience we made a last minute enquiry with Paloma for a booking in Hanoi. Their response was prompt and they were able to accommodate us with the chosen date. We had no idea what tour would be suitable because of the children so Paloma suggested a private tour option for us. We did a 5 hour tour which took us to some main scenic attractions and some off the track tourist spots. The food stops included were great and even the children enjoyed majority of the food.
The all girl driver crew was fabulous. We had Elly Thao (main guide), Mary Dong, Andy Quynh, and Gabby Nga. We took the video option so Rose Duyen and camera man Cuong also followed us on the tour. The video option was great as we didn't need to worry about getting coverage from the tour. That night, photos were emailed and a week later, we received the video with music of our choice.
All in all a fabulous tour. I highly recommend Paloma Tours to everyone who visits Hanoi. The traffic will seem daunting at first, but with such a competent team, you need not worry about your safety, and just enjoy yourself and soak up the atmosphere.
Highlight of our time in Hanoi!! Brilliant!
I cannot recommend this motorbike tour highly enough! More than just a food tour, Peter our local guide took us around the main sites in Hanoi, sharing his in depth knowlwdge, with a professional photographer too who sent photos of us in these locations after our trip (all included in the cost).
Our motorbike drivers Thang and Thang (Sarah) were very good drivers, we felt safe for the entire trip. Sarah was excellent too, we chatted the whole time like old friends, which was just lovely as she was saying all about her views of and life in Vietnam.
The food itself was delicious! They took us to places we wouldn't have known existed otherwise, and they provided us with a range of new dishes.
5*+ - I'd do it again if I could!!
I highly recommend this tour! We were picked up right on time at our hotel, introduced to our drivers and guide and off we went.
Despite this crazy traffic here in Hanoi we felt safe the entire time. It's not just great food it's a cultural adventure. You learn so much, Elly our guide have us so many insights into Vietnamese culture. Our drivers he got and Lee were experienced drivers who were caring and courteous, this tour makes you feel like you are a Welcome friend visiting instead of a tourist.
It's a great way to see the city, taste the food and act like. Vietnamese person for 4 whole hours. We loved it, do yourself a favour, take the tour and enjoy! You won't regret it.
Exciting tour with best guide
The Paloma Motorbike Tour was the most exciting education I've ever received. I was almost in disbelief at the traffic procedures there in Hanoi and at first nervous about the tour. Doing it was literally grabbing the Bull By the Horns.
It didn't take long to become completely comfortable on the bike after realizing how much harmony there was to the seemingly chaotic movements of the other motorists. Once that was settled, the fun began. We were shown traditional sights as well as locations completely off the radar and the stories behind each were incredible.
The food at each stop was delicious and would have been the highlight of the tour if it wasn't trumped by our amazing Tour Guide. A young lady named Mickey.
She won our hearts the moment she greeted us all in our native languages. Mickey takes the crown and really makes doing the tour all the more worth it. She was knowledgeable, fun, very patient, and eager to answer every question we could come up with. Her energy definitely lead the charge.
If you're reading this, Take The Paloma Motorbike Tour. You won't be disappointed. And to really get the most out of it, request Mickey as well!
My husband and I were in Hanoi for one night before heading off to Halong Bay for our cruise. We wanted to book a tour that would allow us to experience Hanoi and the food and our hotel recommended Paloma. We did a motorbike food and sight tour and it was the best choice we could have made. We rode on the back of two motorbikes and went all around Hanoi to see the famous landmarks and try delicious local food for 4 hours. Nam, our tour guide, and our drivers were superb - friendly, knowledgeable, and personable. We told them we were on our honeymoon and they surprised us with a small gift during our tour - too sweet. The tour coordinator also followed us around and took great pictures of us, which were emailed to us a day or two after! I would wholeheartedly recommend the motorbike tour. These guys are great.
Amazing tour with friendly people
My mom and I did the night time tour, which is an absolutely amazing experience. You get a helmet and a walkie talkie, so you can communicate during the ride. We started out at a small but popular coffee bar, the kind you don't easily enter as a foreigner. There we had our first Hanoi egg coffee (very good) and got our vriefing for the rest of the night. It was the start of a wonderful experience. We ate amazing dishes and got tips on how to eat them from our guide. The drivers are incredibly careful and skilled. I had the nicest driver ever, we had very nice and funny discussions while driving through Hanoi traffic. The guide told us interesting information and took us to places we wouldn't have found otherwise. So a big thank you to Paloma Tours for the amazing experience! If you want to experience Hanoi from a different point of view, book this trip. You won't be sorry!
Hanoi like a local
I booked the tour last minute for myself and my husband. Paloma Motorbike tours confirmed the booking for the next day within the hour. We were nervous and excited in equal measure about what the next day had in store. Elly our guide met us with such a friendly welcome in our hotel reception and introduced us to our drivers Quynh and Rose - who gave us our all important helmets! Off we went on our mopeds - and I thought it might take us a while to settle in but our drivers, Quynh and Rose are so experienced - we felt really safe right away!...which was a surprise having seen the Hanoi moped madness the night before in town! We visited local food spots for eats and treats we could not have found ourselves, delicious bun bo nam bo noodles; egg coffee; zipping through spaghetti junctions and past beautiful lakes for some fresh spring rolls and delicious salad. We stopped off in the literature museum, a local food market and drove across Long Biên bridge for a tasty lunch across the other side of the red river in a lovely local family restaurant. We picked up lots of information along the way from the lovely Elly and the whole thing just felt like we were hanging out in Hanoi with friends. We were on a high afterwards! And I can honestly say it was the best tour of a city we've ever done. Totally recommend it. And I just wish there was a Paloma motorbike tour every place we visited! Such a brilliant way to see a city. Thanks Elly! And thanks Rose and Quynh for keeping us safe
Breath, taste, live Hanoi with the ladies of Paloma Motorbike Tours
I was wondering what to do on my last day in Hanoi when my hotel concierge recommended Paloma Motorbike tours. My friend and I booked a morning tour of the city. The ladies were prompt and were all smiles. I really loved their tradition clothing, it's just a beautiful sight as they ride along the city on their motorbike. Our tour guide was Elly, she is an amazing lady. Elly is professional, knowledgeable, and her enthusiastic smile is contagious. Our drivers were Thuy and Nguyen, again very professional ladies. They spoke English well and were eager to practice their English with us. We took Hanoi Fabulous Food and Sights Tour which took about 4 to 5 hours. We had Vietnamese coffee, ate delicious food, saw beautiful historical sights but the most thrilling part was driving through the traffic on the motorbike. It's an experience that you won't forget.
This was the highlight of my holiday in Vietnam!! With the little time we had in Hanoi, this tour was the perfect way to showcase and experience what the capital city is all about. Elly and the girls could not have been better tour guides and company to spend Christmas Eve with. I was blown away by their friendliness and how well they lifted our spirits from being exhausted after traveling to Hanoi to suddenly having all the energy and smiles in the world on this tour. The local food and drink experience was out of this world. I am so grateful to have had this opportunity and would recommend it to anyone and everyone. Do yourself a favour and don't miss out on this amazing experience!! Thanks again to Elly and her team!
When I read on-line that one of the best things to do in Hanoi is a motorbike food trip I was all for it. First, I love food and second I love food. I was a little concerned since I have three kids (11, 15, 18) and after living in Asia for the last 15 years and watching locals drive motorbikes. My youngest two were definitely nervous. After thinking about it, I thought why not. We can always stop if it scares them. Fast forward to the day before our tour, OMG watching and walking in Hanoi can be dangerous. Motorbikes are everywhere and drive unlike I have ever seen. It made me second guess the plan and my middle one was not liking the idea AT ALL. The day of the trip came and it was a beautiful winter day, I had two very concerned family members. When the bikes showed up, immediately I saw my daughters shoulders relax. Our drivers, all ladies, had such a sweet and friendly smile and attitude. Our guide was relaxed and kind. The drivers proved a quick safety lesson and helmets. We stayed very close to our first stop so it gave the kids a few minutes to get comfortable. The kids LOVED it. It was the highlight of the trip. The food was fun, we saw so much of Hanoi - I doubt you could see as much any other way. I highly recommend this trip.
